ChristCare is an exciting ministry at Ascension. ChristCare Small Groups are warm welcoming groups of 4-12 people who learn to know and care for one another. ChristCare Small Group Leaders are trained to facilitate discussion, to actively listen and care, to be process oriented and evangelistic towards others. Ascension has 24 trained leaders at this time. Ascension offers a variety of ChristCare Groups- each having their own focus and personality. There are ChristCare Groups available for Young Adults, Couples, Singles, Divorced, Women, Men, Young Mothers, and Seniors.

ChristCare Small Groups are a wonderful way to stay connected to one another and to be an active and vital member of the congregation. Whether you are new to the congregation or have been with us for a while, you can be part of this exciting ministry at Ascension.

ChristCare Groups Concentrate on Four Activities:

1. Community Building and Care in which members learn to care for one another. This caring grows and builds as members share and get to know and trust one another.

2. Prayer and Worship allows groups to experience a variety of worship and prayer styles - incorporating group ideas and preferences.

3. Biblical Equipping™ is a method of studying the Bible and actively making God's word a part of our everyday lives. Each ChristCare Group chooses the topic or book of the Bible they wish to study. They then dig into what God has to say to them in scripture and how it applies to their lives.

4. Missional Service allows groups to reach out to others with Christ’s love.  Each group decides for themselves what type of service they will undertake - some groups serve in the church in various ways - others focus more on outreach ministries. Missional Service is a group decision and can be varied. This makes Missional Service enjoyable for everyone.

The ChristCare Small Group Ministry is a highly effective tool to carry out Jesus' Great Commandment to love one another and Great Commission to make disciples.
